ConstablePayne

Constable Jennifer Payne is a prominent Centralian police officer.

Any time PrincessAlice, or anyone with a direct connection to her, ends up interacting with a civilian police officer, it is always Jennifer Payne, regardless of when or where the interaction occurs, or which law enforcement agency is ostensibly involved. The Princess has seemingly never noticed this coincidence, let alone questioned it.

Appearance

Constable Payne is a petite young woman with short, dark gray hair. Her eyes are a hazy grey--not a typical eye color for humans, though Princess Alice, not being human herself, has never noticed.

Constable Payne's usual uniform consists of a white dress shirt with a black tie, a black skirt, and a white peaked cap with a black brim. During the colder months, she wears a black jacket and black slacks. She usually has a radio mic clipped to her shirt, though no one can recall ever seeing her speak into it.

On her belt, Constable Payne carries two pairs of handcuffs--one in the standard size and one curiously small pair, seemingly meant for some kind of small magical creature--and a baton, which bears a peculiar resemblance to a magic wand. She notably does not carry a firearm.

Vehicles

Constable Payne's usual patrol car is a black and white sedan, large enough to seem amusingly oversized when driven by such a small woman. The sides of her car are marked with the word POLICE (or sometimes HIGHWAY PATROL) and the same fairy-wing star emblem found on her badge. Her car is equipped with red and blue emergency lights and a siren that is, in her own words, "pretty loud, but admittedly not as loud as the Princess." Those who have been detained in the back of Constable Payne's car have reported it to be especially difficult to escape from, even with the aid of magic.

In urban areas, Constable Payne has been known to ride a black and white motorcycle equipped with red and blue flashing lights. While riding her motorcycle, Payne typically wears a black jacket marked POLICE, a white helmet with her unique fairy-wing star emblem on either side, and dark sunglasses.

Notable incidents

Payne detained PrinceAlex on April 1st after he transformed her police motorcycle into a toddler's tricycle as an "epic prancc".

Payne was apparently involved in the incident that led the administration of DameAdorabellesAcademy to forbid Princess Alice from going near the school's bus, though the Princess does not remember any details of the incident, and Payne refuses to tell her.

Payne has argued, unsuccessfully, that the RoyalLibrarian should revise their strict no-weapons policy for the RoyalLibrary to include an exemption for police officers. Currently, the only exemption is for magical girls who fight scary monsters.

Payne once tried to taze a kaiju. It wasn't very effective. Nobody really knows why she thought that would work.
