Police officers are the civil servants nominally responsible for enforcing Centralian laws and upholding public order. In practice, most of what they do is evacuate crowded public places when big monsters show up so the MagicalGirls can fight them without collateral damage. They spend a lot of time shouting "RUN!" and "THAT WAY! HURRY!" while waving their arms ineffectually.
Sometimes they direct traffic too.
The most notable Centralian police officer is ConstablePayne.

Agencies
The national police agency of Centralia is the RoyalCentraliaCivilGuard. The traffic enforcement division of the Royal Centralia Civil Guard is the RoyalHighwayPatrol.
Larger municipalities, such as ButtercupBay or Riverside, typically maintain their own police departments. The special prefecture of QueenCity maintains the Queen City Metropolitan Police.
Other government entities, such as universities, transit authorities, and hospitals, employ special constables, who have full police authority only within the bounds of the property to which they are assigned.
Uniforms and equipment
The standards Centralian police uniform consists of a white dress shirt with black tie, black skirt (or black slacks, if someone doesn't want to wear a skirt for some reason) and a white cap with a black peak.
Centralian police vehicles are painted black and white and equipped with red and blue emergency lights. Sometimes they don't even bother writing the word "police" on them, because, like, it's not like anyone else is allowed to drive around in a car like that. Come on!
