The Sergeant-at-Arms is the ceremonial officer tasked with security duties for the Senate of Centralia.

Unlike Parliament Hall, which is guarded by the special Parliamentary Unit of the CentraliaHonorGuard, security for the Senate is provided solely by the Sergeant-at-Arms...a disheveled man in an ill-fitting security guard uniform, who mostly sits at his desk in the corner and plays on a clunky old laptop during Senate proceedings. His uniform is conspicuously generic, with no company name or identifying markings, only the word SECURITY. His generic SECURITY OFFICER badge is remarkably similar to the novelty badges sold at pop-up Halloween stores.

The Sergeant-at-Arms is, ironically, very much unarmed, carrying no weapons whatsoever--not even less-lethal weapons such as pepper spray. The only item in his possession resembling a weapon was a strange paddle a small child found stuffed under his desk, which had the word YAOI written on it. He quickly snatched it away and stuffed it back under the desk, seemingly very embarrassed. Weird.

Nobody is quite sure how old the Sergeant-at-Arms is. Some people assume he is a young college student who took on a part-time job for extra spending money, while others assume he is an elderly retiree who took on a part-time job for extra spending money. Little is known about his personal life, apart from his occasional references to "my niece Bobby".
