The Headmistress is, of course, the head teacher of Dame Adorabelle's Academy of the Magical Arts. She presumably has a personal name, but students, faculty, and staff all address her solely as "Headmistress".
Despite PrincessAlice's attempts at characterizing her as a cruel tyrant bent on destroying childlike whimsy and play, the Headmistress is generally regarded as reasonable and levelheaded and recognized for her leadership skills.
