Serenity Circle is a district in downtown QueenCity. The Circle immediately surrounds the grounds of PrincessAlice's official residence, the PalaceOfSerenity, from which it takes its name. Despite its name, the Serenity Circle is not geometrically a circle but a 13-sided polygon bounded by urban avenues.

Transportation

There are no traffic signals within the Serenity Circle. Major intersections are controlled 24 hours a day by traffic marshals of the Queen City Metropolitan Traffic Authority. Within the district, some Traffic Authority marshals are assigned to "tourist duty", wearing special pink safety vests marked INFORMATION and providing directions and assistance to tourists. The tourist information role was established to deter tourists from distracting marshals from their traffic control duties by asking for directions.

On-street parking in Serenity Circle is heavily restricted, requiring a special permit typically not issued to private individuals. Public parking is available in two multi-story parking garages located at rail and bus transit hubs. A royal decree issued by PrincessJeanette prohibits the construction of surface-level parking lots within Serenity Circle.

Public Safety

The Queen City Metropolitan Police maintains a dedicated Serenity Circle division. Because of the district's small size, officers assigned to the Serenity Circle typically patrol on foot or by bicycle. Two police cruisers are assigned to the district, but are rarely used.
