Discordantia

Discordantia, officially The People's Democratic Republic Of Discordantia Which Is Totally Not Totalitarian, is the nation bordering Centralia to the east. Discordantia is led by the self-proclaimed "authoritarian dictatrix" TsarinaMalice.

Geography

Discordantia is bordered by Centralia and Zeoria to the west, Mumuland to the north, ?????? to the east, and the ocean to the south.

Discordantia's capital and largest city is ErisCity, located along Route 60 roughly 220 kilometers east of the Centralia border. Eris City is the location of the Imperial Palace of Discorantia, the official residence of Tsarina Malice.

Government

The government of Discordantia is, somehow, even more dysfunctional than that of Centralia. Ostensibly, Discordantia is a totalitarian dictatorship under the strict rule of the authoritarian Supreme Leader TsarinaMalice. Malice, however, would rather spend most of her time shut up in her room playing on her weird laptop than engaging with the governance of her own nation, leading her to have little influence over the daily lives of her subjects.

AgatheLilithBlack, the eccentric sorceress best known for her brief "takeover" of Centralia, was appointed the first Prime Minister of Discordantia after offering Tsarina Malice her services as "a highly competent chief advisor with no ulterior motives whatsoever." There is no indication that Agathe intends to abuse this position of authority for her personal gain, at least, not as far as Malice knows.

The official "national security service" of Discordantia is the Discordantian Unified Marshals Brigade, commonly known as the DiscordantianSecretPolice. Malice believes the Secret Police is an enigmatic, intimidating institution feared by the public. In reality, the Secret Police do little more than carry out mild schoolyard-level bullying against people Malice picked a fight with online, and the denizens of Discordantia largely disregard them.

National symbols

The primary national symbol of Discordantia is the golden apple. People seeing the Discordantian flag or national seal for the first time often say "Oh, a golden apple, I get it!", to which Tsarina Malice says "Yes! I'm very clever!" because she refuses to admit she doesn't get it herself.

The national anthem of Discordantia is "MMMBop" by Hanson, chosen when Tsarina Malice, asked to choose an anthem, hit the "shuffle" button on her Zune just to shut her handlers up.

Relationship with Centralia

Due to her personal beef with Princess Alice, Tsarina Malice considers Centralia and Discordantia to be rival nations, but the rivalry appears to be quite one-sided. Most Centralians, including Princess Alice herself, openly disregard Malice's hostility toward Centralia, and officials in Malice's own government frequently tell Malice she's "totally winning" the supposed cold war while not actually acting on the conflict in any way.
