Personality
Butterscotch is the eldest of the Sweets siblings, having been born 14 minutes before her twin brother Caramel. She is the self-proclaimed leader of the team, and takes the team's duties very seriously. Butterscotch does not hesitate to remind her siblings that they have a responsibility to protect the people of Colerain.
Butterscotch has a somewhat antagonistic relationship with her sister Gumdrop, who seems to resent Butterscotch's position as de facto leader of the team. Caramel, in contrast, has a more amicable relationship with both his sisters and often helps to keep the peace between them.
Mental Illness
Of the three Sweets siblings, Butterscotch struggles the most with mental illness. She experiences intense manic episodes and depressive episodes, which not only affect her sleep patterns, but can also impair her control of her magical powers.
Abilities
Butterscotch's magical element is Air, granting her the ability to manipulate the flow of air around her. She makes use of this power, for example, by using a column of flowing air to break her fall when jumping from a great height. Certain factors, such as differing air density, can affect Butterscotch's use of her wind powers, and she must adjust accordingly.
Butterscotch's magical "weapon" is her magic hemp, which everyone else just calls a rope, because that's what it is. She is able to use the hemp for nearly any purpose, including as a whip, a lasso, and even a grappling hook.
