This is where CentralAvenue writes thoughts and ideas relating to Centralia that don't have a place in any specific article (yet). <> == Stage Magic in Centralia == While out for a drive this morning, I pondered the nature of stage magic in Centralia. The biggest conclusion I reached pertains to how stage magic is promoted in Centralia. In a world where ''real'' magic exists, an stage magician couldn't get away with claiming their "magic" was real, as some stage magicians in the real world try to do. Even if they perfected their illusions to the point that they became indistinguishable from real magic, that wouldn't be a particularly impressive feat. You'd just look like some dude who can do real magic. Everyone has seen that already. No, to get people to actually be interested in your performance, you'd have to let people '''know''' you're an illusionist. The premise of the show becomes: The illusionist is lying to you. The illusionist is trying to fool you. You know full well that you're being lied to, but if the illusionist is good enough, you can't figure out exactly ''what'' the lie was. (Truthfully, this is how I, and I assume many people, enjoy stage magic in real life. Even as a child I was aware that it was all trickery, but the fun was in trying to puzzle out how it was done.) Would fake fake magic be a problem, you think? Like, someone who can perform real magic does some real magic on stage but claims it's an illusion? There are certainly people unscrupulous enough to try such a thing. What measures could you take to prevent that? -- CentralAvenue <> == Alicorn ChirpChirp version history == AlicornSystems – ChirpChirp Messenger || 12.1 || 2015 || || 12.2 || 2016 || || 13.0 || 2017 || || 13.1 || 2018 || || 14.0 || 2019 || || 14.1 || 2020 || -- CentralAvenue <> Semiramis is the duchess of SunsetValley -- CentralAvenue <> ---- CategoryMeta
